IT Security Guru picks for Infosecurity Europe 2025

With Infosecurity Europe around the corner next week, planning your schedule can be tricky. But never fear! The Gurus have been busy collecting a selection of unmissable events to help you plan your days and ensure you get the most out of your visit.

First up: the talks. And there are a lot to choose from! Here’s a small selection of ones we think you’ll enjoy:

Tuesday Talks

  • Sam Swift, senior director of marketing at Vaultree and Tim Grieveson, Chief Security Officer (CSO) and EVP Information Security (CISO) at ThingsRecon, will speak about Securing the Software Supply Chain: A New Revenue Stream for MSSPs in the Channel Zone from 11:15 on Tuesday 3rd June.

Why we like it: If you’re a reseller, distributor, integrator or MSSP – don’t miss this one! With rising cyber threats to the software supply chain, MSSPs have an opportunity to expand their services. Sam and Tim explore how MSSPs can secure software supply chains by managing Vulnerability Assessments, Code Integrity Checks and Third-Party Risk Management.

  • Matthew Brady, Sales Engineering Manager at Black Duck will present his AppSec Survival Guide: Surviving AI, Malware & Compliance – Without losing your mind! On Tues 3rd June at 15:30 on the Deep Dive stage.

Why we like it: This session explores the dynamic landscape of the software supply chain, focusing on the significant effects of emerging regulations, the integration of artificial intelligence and the threats posed by malware and malicious actors with tons of practical insights.

  • Erich Kron, security awareness advocate at KnowBe4 and James Dyer, threat intelligence lead at KnowBe4 will speak on Humans vs. HAL: Managing Human Risk in an AI-Driven Threat Landscape at the Cyber Strategies stage from 13:30 on Tues 3rd June.

Why we like it: How was $25 million stolen through a Zoom call? Was €220,000 really transferred due to a phone call? How did KnowBe4 accidentally hire a North Korean actor? The pair will delve into these real-world examples and impart critical learnings on attendees.

  • Tim Ward, CEO and co-founder of ThinkCyber and Gareth Thomas, Security Education and Awareness Product Owner at Lloyds Banking Group will come together to discuss Measuring what matters – Enhance security awareness through behavioural science and data at the Case Studies stage on Tuesday 3rd June from 14:15.

Why we like it: There’s no better way to learn than through real-life experience. Attendees will learn to measure the effectiveness of security programmes through behaviour-focused indicators, implement useful frameworks and tools, overcome employee engagement challenges and communicate results effectively.

Wednesday Talks

  • Deryck Mitchelson, Head of Global CISOs & C-Suite Advisor at Check Point, will give a talk entitled From Code to Chaos: How AI Is Weaponizing the Cyber Battlefield on Wed 4th June at 10:30 on theAI & Cloud Security stage.

Why we like it: AI has been hyped for some distant point in the future, but it’s already very much here. Deryck will explore how AI is being weaponized across the cyber battlefield — not in the distant future, but now.

  • Rik Ferguson, VP of threat intelligence at Forescout will be chairing a panel on Security ROI – Where Should You Be Spending Your Budget? on Wed 4th June at 13:00pm. The illustrious panel will include Jon Davies from KPMG, CISO Munawar Valiji, Madelein van der Hout from Forrester and BBC reporter Joe Tidy.

Why we like it:  With economic headwinds and a tech stack full of tools that often underdeliver, this panel goes deep on making security spend actually mean something.

Thursday Talks

  • Kieran B, head of security engineering at Bridewell, will speak about Quantum Computing: Not quite the Quantum Realm, but a reality in the cyber world on the Cyber Strategies stage at 11:05 on Thurs 5th June.

Why we like it: You can’t beat a good Marvel reference: Marvel’s Ant-Man Quantum Realm may be fiction, but quantum computing is here and reshaping cyber security. While it will not shrink anyone, it does bring a unique way of processing that can tackle previously unsolvable challenges. Yet, like any good superhero story, there is a twist: a cryptographically relevant quantum computer (CRQC) could eventually crack current encryption standards, making sensitive data vulnerable.

  • Darren Guccione, CEO and co-founder at Keeper Security, will give his talk The Future of Defence: IT Security Leadership in an Era of Unprecedented Cyber Threats on the Cyber Strategies stage at 14:05 on Thursday 5th June.

Why we like it: It may be the last day of the show, but the conference programme is certainly jam-packed with content. Darren will rally the cybersecurity industry and give his notes on where organisations should be priotising their efforts in cybersecurity to keep up with emerging threats.
