In 2025 alone, global ransomware damage costs are predicted by Cybersecurity Ventures to cost $59 billion, and that will rise to more than $275 billion annually by 2031.
Fortunately, there are multiple steps businesses can take to lower the risk of being a victim, and to respond more effectively if an attack does hit.
In a recent Cybercrime Magazine Podcast episode, Adam Keown, global CISO at Fortune 500 company Eastman, joins host Heather Engel to discuss ransomware incident response planning, and how cyberinsurance ties into that.
“Incident response plans are not only a necessity, but practicing those incident response plans are also a necessity,: says Keown. “Preparation is where it’s at. A plan is useless if it’s not followed.”
