Zscaler Acquires SPLX to Strengthen AI-Powered Zero Trust Security

Zscaler, a leading cloud security company, has acquired SPLX, an innovative AI security pioneer, to enhance its Zero Trust Exchange platform with advanced AI protection capabilities.

The acquisition will integrate shift-left AI asset discovery, automated red teaming, and governance features that enable organizations to secure their AI investments throughout the entire lifecycle from development to deployment.

Addressing the Growing AI Security Challenge

The acquisition comes at a critical time as AI infrastructure investments are projected to exceed $250 billion by the end of 2025.

Organizations are grappling with rapidly expanding attack surfaces and shadow AI sprawl as they adopt artificial intelligence technologies.

These capabilities will create a dedicated, natively integrated layer of AI protection within the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange platform.

The enhanced platform will offer comprehensive AI asset discovery and risk assessment that extends beyond public generative AI applications and public clouds to include AI models, workflows, code repositories, RAGs, and MCP servers in both public and private deployments.

The integration will provide automated AI red teaming and remediation capabilities, featuring over 5,000 purpose-built and domain-specific attack simulations to identify risks and vulnerabilities from development to production, with real-time remediation.

The platform will also expand Zscaler’s current AI Runtime Guardrails to protect sensitive data and block malicious attacks between AI applications and LLMs, including agentic workflows, while providing deep visibility within development environments.
