Adobe Acrobat Sign Secures PROTECTED Level After IRAP Assessment

The demand for secure digital experiences continues to soar, with recent Adobe research showing a correlation between reliable, accessible, efficient and secure public services and higher citizen usage volumes.

In recognition of the demand for more secure, efficient, and compliant digital document solutions, Adobe Acrobat Sign completed the Infosec Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) assessment at the PROTECTED level in March 2025. This follows Adobe Experience Manager Gov Cloud Australia (AEM Gov AU) completing the IRAP assessment at the PROTECTED level in March 2024.

These IRAP assessments reaffirm Adobe’s commitment to work with governments to provide improved yet trusted digital citizen experiences, maintaining the highest security standards for handling classified information.

Reinforcing digital security with IRAP

Adobe Acrobat Sign’s IRAP certification underscores its ability to support government agencies in delivering secure, transparent, and efficient digital experiences.

IRAP is an Australian government initiative set up by the Australian Signals Directorate. It is designed to assess the security posture of information and communication technology systems against the Information Security Manual (ISM).

ISM is a cyber security framework that organisations can apply, using their risk management framework, to help protect their information and systems from cyber threats. This framework ensures that organisations handling sensitive data meet stringent cyber security requirements, providing assurance to Australian government agencies and businesses that their digital interactions are secure.

Adobe Acrobat Sign was assessed against the classification level controls outlined in the ISM, with the PROTECTED level denoting its alignment with the control requirements for use among Australian federal, state, and local agencies.

This allows Australian government agencies to adopt Adobe Acrobat Sign, facilitating their transition to digital workflows while meeting regulatory security standards. Equally, it ensures our customers can use Adobe Acrobat Sign when working with government agencies.

Digital experiences underpinned by trust

As digital transformation accelerates, so do the expectations for security and trust in digital interactions. Adobe Acrobat Sign enables end-to-end digital experiences across all types of signing workflows. It helps agencies securely handle large volumes of online signature processes, including identity management, authentication and access control for users, document integrity certification, e-signature verification, and maintenance of recipient acceptance and audit trails.

It also enables remote digital signatures backed by digital certificates from trust service providers with verified Cloud Signature Consortium (CSC) integrations to Adobe Acrobat Sign.

Adobe’s Common Control Framework

Adobe says the Common Controls Framework is at the core of its security and compliance approach. This comprehensive framework streamlines security requirements, ensuring our cloud products, services, and operations adhere to globally recognised standards, including SOC2, ISO/IEC 27001:2013, ISO 22301:2019, PCI DSS, FedRAMP and many more.
