Apple fixed dozens of vulnerabilities in iOS and macOS

Apple has issued security updates to address multiple vulnerabilities across iOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, watchOS, and Safari.

The IT giant released iOS 17.6 and iPadOS 17.6 to address dozens of security vulnerabilities, including authentication and policy bypasses, information disclosure and denial-of-service (DoS) issues, and bugs that can lead to memory leaks and unexpected application termination or system shutdown,

The vulnerabilities impacts AppleMobileFileIntegrity, Kernel, WebKit, CoreGraphics, CoreMedia, dyld, Family Sharing, ImageIO, libxpc, Phone. Phone Storage, Sandbox, Shortcuts, Siri, and VoiceOver.

The company also released iOS 16.7.9 and iPadOS 16.7.9 updates to fix the vulnerabilities in older iPhone and iPad devices.

Apple also addressed nine vulnerabilities in Safari with the release of 17.6.

The company has not revealed if any of the addressed vulnerabilities is being exploited in the wild.

The company also released the first beta of iOS 18.1 for developers, specifically for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The update includes new Apple Intelligence features, including Writing Tools, enhancements to Mail and notifications, and improvements to Photos, among other updates.

“Once you update to iOS 18.1, you can request access to Apple Intelligence by going to Settings, tapping on the new Apple Intelligence menu, then tapping on “Join the waitlist.” You’ll receive a push notification once you have been granted access to the Apple Intelligence beta.” reported the website 9to5mac.com.
