The infamous NoEscape ransomware group has made headlines once more, with two fresh victims falling prey to their dark web portal – Avianor Group and OE Federal Credit Union. The cybercriminals have claimed responsibility for the Avianor data breach and OE Federal Credit Union data breach, putting sensitive data at risk.
Avianor Data Breach and Critical Countdown
According to their post on the dark web portal, Avianor Group is now grappling with the exposure of 800 gigabytes of its sensitive information, now under the control of malevolent hackers. With a countdown of 9 days, 23 hours, 36 minutes, and 6 seconds for the next data update, Avianor Group faces a critical window to assess the situation and engage in potential negotiations with the threat actors.
On the other hand, OE Federal Credit Union has experienced a substantial data breach, with a staggering 1.1 terabytes of data falling into the hands of these malicious actors. A countdown of 9 days, 22 hours, 33 minutes, and 2 seconds has been set for the next data update, leaving the credit union with limited time to respond and evaluate the potential consequences of the breach.
The Cyber Express Team reached out to both organizations to verify the NoEscape ransomware group’s claims. However, responses from their officials are still pending. What has raised concern is the inaccessibility of Avianor Group’s official website. Attempting to access it during our investigation resulted in an error message.
Additionally, OE Federal Credit Union’s official website triggered an alarming message, reading: “Don’t be Tricked by Fraudsters Pretending to be OE Federal!” This prompted further investigation. The full message cautions users about potential fraud attempts and advises against sharing sensitive information. It also provides a contact number for reporting suspicious calls.
With these indications, it appears that something unusual may be occurring. Nevertheless, before making any conclusive statements, we await official responses to these matters.
Avianor Group, based in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada, is a well-established company specializing in aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul. OE Federal Credit Union, on the other hand, is a leading credit union serving the United States, dedicated to the financial needs of union workers and their families.
A Familiar Pattern: NoEscape’s Cyber Assaults
This is not the first time that the NoEscape ransomware group has claimed responsibility for a OE Federal Credit Union cyberattack and Avianor cyberattack. In October 2023, they targeted two new victims, Penfield Fire Company and Centre du Sablon, adding to their list of targets.
They claimed to possess a substantial 86GB of data belonging to the Centre du Sablon organization. In the case of the NoEscape cyberattack on Penfield Fire Company, specifics were not emphasized.
Earlier in September, Waterloo Media fell victim to a data breach at the hands of the NoEscape ransomware group. Additionally, the film and media industry has become a prime target for hackers.
