However, the advertisement for the position of an admin for dark web chat was endorsed openly, which perplexed cybersecurity experts.
Other announcements similar to the one pertaining to the recruitment in the Cyber Army of Russia Reborn were made discreetly, researchers argued.
Cyber Army of Russia Reborn Seeks Adult Admin for Dark Web Chat
Cybersecurity researchers were pondering over the motives behind the open recruitment in the Cyber Army of Russia reborn. The announcement, translated from Russian text, noted the need for a candidate who was above 18 years old.
“We are a team with a serious approach and full vetting,” read the Cyber Army of Russia Reborn’s recruitment post. The vetting process suggested that those looking to apply for the position of admin for dark web chats would be scanned for affiliations with specific nations, skills, and backgrounds that should not affect their motives.

The Cyber Army of Russia Reborn was found taking votes to finalize their next target for cyberattacks. Conflicts between nations and other geopolitical situations have often been named as the reason behind cyberattacks launched by hacktivists.
Some hacktivists have pledged to follow the first-of-its-kind rules of engagement noted in the Geneva Code of Cyber-War issued by the International Committee of the Red Cross.
One of the rules stated that hospitals or humanitarian relief organizations must not be targeted. These guidelines were openly accepted by hackers including those from the Killnet group.
