Cybercriminal group Cyber Army Russia has claimed to have breached the website of a Finnish entertainment magazine. Seiska, which is a gossip magazine based in Helsinki, Finland was targeted by the cybercriminal group.
The gossip magazine had not confirmed the Seiska cyberattack at the time of writing this report.
Seiska Cyberattack
Threat Intelligence firm CyberKnow tweeted about the Seiska cyberattack with the below screenshot. The translated message posted by the Russian Cyber Army hackers stated that they were working according to their deadlines.
Mentioning the meaning of the publication’s name Seiska, the Russian Cyber Army wrote, “We are attacking the website of the publication Seiska, also known as 7 päivää (7 days in Finnish), which publishes gossip….”
They placed the link to the website and its IP address on the alleged Seiska cyberattack announcement.
The website of the magazine was accessible when checked by The Cyber Express. We emailed the publication for comments about the alleged Seiska cyberattack. We will update this report upon receiving a response from them.
Previous Cyberattacks by Cyber Army Russia
In a recent tweet, Threat Intelligence firm Falcon Feeds shared screenshots from the Telegram page of the Cyber Army of Russia.
The hackers were seeking votes to determine which country they supported and which not to launch cyberattacks on them. This was likely performed as an amusement to the hackers from Russia. They received 112 votes in the poll conducted on Telegram.
Cyber Army Russia has been making derogatory remarks about its victimized organizations one among them being a Ukrainian radio station. The Radio Bayraktar cyberattack claim maintained the stance of the cybercriminal group affiliated with Russia.
Besides the cyberattack on Seiska in Finland, and the Radio Bayraktar cyberattack, the Cyber Army Russia was reported to have targeted Ukrainian organizations in 2022.
They claimed a cyberattack on Redprice which manufactures appliances for the home, and work including plumbing, kitchen, and climate technology. The translated message posted by Cyber Army Russia noted their intention to hinder the people of Ukraine from having access to generators amid the war.
