How IBM and Palo Alto Networks team up to combat cyberthreats


It’s estimated that organizations spend more than $200 billion annually on security hardware, software and services globally. That’s a big number. But consider that the economic impact of cybercrime is predicted by Cybersecurity Ventures to reach $9.5 trillion in 2024.

Two tech giants, IBM Corp. and Palo Alto Networks Inc., have joined forces to combine deep expertise, artificial intelligence, and a platform approach to better protect organizations from attackers. In May of this year, they further advanced the partnership with a sharpened focus on AI security and announced that Palo Alto would acquire IBM’s QRadar SaaS assets for around $500 million.
