In the aftermath of a major cyberattack on Ukraine’s largest mobile operator, Kyivstar, CEO Oleksandr Komarov announced on Thursday in a news report that while major services could be restored by the end of this week, the complete reinstatement of all services might take several weeks.
Komarov conveyed his optimism, stating that the company aims to fully reinstate crucial services such as mobile internet, voice services, and SMS within the coming days.
However, he acknowledged that restoring all additional services might take several weeks, emphasizing the meticulous approach required in the recovery process.
“(To restore) all additional services, from my point of view, will probably take several weeks,” he said in televised comments.
Attributed to be linked with Russian military intelligence by Ukraine’s security service SBU, the hacker group Solntsepyok claimed responsibility for the Kyvistart cyberattack.
Komarov reassured customers that no sensitive data was compromised, dispelling concerns about the authenticity of screenshots circulated on Telegram, labeling them as fabricated.
