Leidos Australia makes redundancies in ATO team – Training & Development

Leidos Australia has informed staff servicing its Australian Taxation Office (ATO) account of a round of redundancies, after losing work to other IT services providers.

Impacted staff were informed of the company’s decision on Monday.

It is understood that 30 people in the ATO account servicing team are impacted by this redundancy round, which is for the first quarter of 2024.

A Leidos Australia spokesperson offered a “no comment” when approached by iTnews.

Leidos Australia held two so-called “megadeals” with the ATO for IT services, but these have been broken up and re-contested by the agency.

The incumbent has secured extensions to its existing deals that will see it through a transition period until the end of 2024.

Other providers, notably Kinetic IT, have been successful at picking up the re-tendered work previously held by Leidos.

In addition to redundancies, sources also told iTnews that the ATO servicing teams had also reduced in size due to staff attrition over 2023.

iTnews received conflicting information on the size of the ATO servicing team today; it is understood to be somewhere north of 100 people, but fewer than 180.
