Dawsongroup, a B2B asset hiring and funding company, has reportedly fallen prey to a LockBit ransomware attack. The Dawsongroup cyberattack, purportedly orchestrated by LockBit, was identified by the ThreatMon Threat Intelligence Team.
The Cyber Express has contacted Dawsongroup to obtain an official statement regarding the incident. However, as of the time of this report, no response has been received from Dawsongroup.
In an effort to verify these claims, we attempted to access Dawsongroup’s website on our systems and found that the website is currently functioning without any apparent issues.
Dawsongroup Cyberattack
A Twitter user, going by the name ThreatMon Advanced Ransomware Monitoring, has posted about the purported ransomware attack on Dawsongroup that reportedly occurred at 21:36 UTC +3 on December 13, 2023.
LockBit Ransomware group, active since September 2019, primarily targets businesses and government agencies, employing a double extortion tactic to coerce victims into paying.
If confirmed, the cyberattack on Dawsongroup could have widespread ramifications. As a B2B company connected to various businesses, the exposure of its data poses a substantial risk of data theft for linked companies.
