However, criminals may exploit these conveniences through tactics like phishing, aiming to steal sensitive information or inject malware. This can lead to intelligence gathering or even ransomware attacks. Attendees of the Paris Olympics 2024 are cautioned to be vigilant of deceptive QR Codes, email links, and SMS links that appear legitimate but could pose significant risks. Experts advise using official websites or cash transactions for purchasing tickets and services to avoid falling victim to malicious traps.
Information Disclosure: Major sporting events attract various malicious actors, from petty thieves to sophisticated criminals. They might impersonate vendors or suppliers to deceive unsuspecting victims at the venue or through social media. Therefore, it’s crucial for attendees to be mindful of what personal information they share, whether at the event or online.
