Security Pill: How Far Can Allowlisting Restrictions Defend Threats and Human Errors?


Sami Jenkins is the COO and Co–Founder of the cybersecurity firm ThreatLocker. She also co-founded the security firm Sirrustec, Inc, which offered email security to its patrons.

Prior to this, she shouldered managerial responsibilities at MXSweep, Ireland, for over two years, where she helped build data centers and product design among other projects. Sami was the manager at the cybersecurity company Vipre security group.

In an exclusive interaction with The Cyber Express, Sami Jenkins discussed the best security measures, including opting for zero trust for managed service providers (MSPs), and the need for managed security service providers (MSSPs) that offer optimum security. She also spoke about the migration from MSP to MSSP.

Sami Jenkins also talked about technology and the need for it to be taught in schools to ensure that cybersecurity, as a concept, is ingrained in individuals at an early age.

Speaking about women in cybersecurity, Sami highlighted that cybersecurity is a very difficult field of work for all genders. However, the hunger for learning and getting the work done can bring powerful results adding that cybersecurity is not like what is shown in the movies. There is a lot more to it.
