As part of the ongoing operation ‘OpColombia’, the hackers of the SeigedSec group added two more targets to their victim list.
Cybersecurity researchers tweeted about the incidents, sharing screenshots from the group’s website on the dark web. Central Board of Accountants cyber attack was among the recent hacks claimed by the group.
Central Board of Accountants cyber attack
SeigedSec, active since 2022, carried out several cyber attacks against Colombian entities before calling it quits with OpColombia, as claimed in its recent post. Before bidding adieu, the hacker group named the following website –

- Corponor – Regional Autonomous Corporation of the Northeastern Border (http://corponor.gov.co)
- Bucaramanga Municipal Social Protection Fund (http://cpsmbga.gov.co)
- District Secretariat Of Government (http://gobiernobogota.gov.co)
- IBAL SA ESP (http://ibal.gov.co)
- Colombian Agricultural Institute (http://ica.gov.co)
- Subred Sur (http://subredsur.gov.co)
The Cyber Express reached out to the organizations for comment. We will update this news report on receiving the response.
The websites of the Central Board of Accountants, the Regional Autonomous Corporation of the Northeastern Border, IBAL SA ESP, and the Colombian Agriculture Institute were accessible at the time of writing.
SeigedSec’s claims about the Central Board of Accountants cyber attack
The post with the list of Colombian targets read, “We are here for our 3rd and final Operation Colombia attack.”
SeigedSec claimed to release databases from government websites and targeted power supply controllers besides the Central Board of Accountants cyber attack.
“These attacks have shut down the affected systems. We are proud to announce this attack comes in cooperation with GhostSec.”
The revelation about collaborating with another group named Ghost Security or GhostSec solidified claims of both groups working together for other cyber attacks. SeigedSec has been found to use its channels to announce cyber attacks made by the GhostSec group.
SeigedSec hacks targeted websites, steals data from the system, and defaces them as the final step of the cyber attack.
They collected user data from the Central Board of Accountants’ cyber attack and the website of the Local Hospital of Piedecuesta.
“Although we will move on from this operation, we still stand by Org0n and will support from the sidelines when we’re able. We will return to our regular malicious hacking now,” the post concluded.
Cyber attack post on May 27
On May 27, the SeigedSec group posted six names of targeted websites listed above including the Subred Sur website, which was inaccessible at the time of writing. Through this cyber attack as part of OpColombia, the group stole nearly 6GB data.
They claimed to have databases, backend files, emails, confidential documents, identification cards, etc. “While we exfiltrated lots of data, we unfortunately were unable to exfiltrate all emails, only a small portion,” the post concluded.
FreeOrg0n: The hacking of Colombian websites for a member’s arrest
A previous post by SeigedSec on its website mentioned their plot to target Colombia because of the arrest of a fellow member named ‘Org0n.’ The group claimed over 30 Colombian websites at one instance in retaliation to Org0n’s arrest by Colombian authorities.
The group now declared a pause to OpColombia halting online attacks on government and other websites from the country.
The group even started a second version of OpColombia as v2. They targeted 30 radio broadcasts and eight government-affiliated satellite receivers from the country, a post by the hackers read.
SeigedSec is led by a renowned hacktivist called YourAnonWolf, according to a Dark Owl report. They were suspected to have about 7 members in their team, according to the 2022 report.
