The Stockwell Harris Law Data Breach Claimed By Lockbit


The notorious Lockbit ransomware group has claimed the Stockwell Harris Law data breach. Stockwell Harris Law is a prominent legal firm specializing in California’s Workers’ Compensation defense. 

The incident came to attention when the Lockbit ransomware group updated their victim list to include Stockwell Harris Law.

The group’s ominous post, marked with a timestamp of “Deadline: 20 Aug 2023 22:11:44 UTC,” contained a message directed at the Stockwell Harris Law data breach. 

According to the post, the breach was attributed to the firm’s alleged negligence in safeguarding its clients’ sensitive data. This breach of trust prompted the ransomware group to expose a sizeable amount of the law company’s legal data.

The Stockwell Harris Law data breach reportedly encompasses a range of sensitive information, including “Creditor Reports 2022,” “Trial Balance,” and more, all of which were supposedly uploaded to a link provided in the group’s announcement.

To learn more about the alleged Stockwell Harris Law data breach, The Cyber Express contacted the company to confirm the claims. However, at the time of writing this, no official response or statement had been received from the company, leaving the claims for the Stockwell Harris Law data breach unverified. 

Stockwell Harris Law, also known as Stockwell, Harris, Woolverton & Fox, is a legal entity within California’s Workers’ Compensation defense.

The rise of Lockbit ransomware group

In a year marked by escalating cyber threats, the Lockbit ransomware group has emerged as a significant player. Last year, they wreaked havoc, and now in 2023, they have once again made headlines.

Siemens Healthineers, a prominent healthcare technology giant, found itself in the crosshairs of the same group. The subsidiary Varian Medical Systems was targeted by Lockbit ransomware group, resulting in a different data breach.

Siemens Healthineers promptly responded to the situation by investigating the alleged ransomware incident. The corporation acknowledged the claims made by Lockbit regarding the exposure of Varian’s data.

However, Siemens Healthineers did not confirm the actual theft of data. A spokesperson reassured stakeholders that the company had robust cybersecurity measures in place to mitigate risks, and a dedicated task force was diligently investigating the incident, reported 

Lockbit’s recent activities underscore the rising threats healthcare organizations face in the U.S. Similarly, United Medical Centers, situated on the U.S.-Mexico border, was also targeted.

The healthcare facility experienced network disruptions and technical difficulties. Despite these challenges, medical services continued to be provided to patients while efforts were made to restore normal operations.
