In a dark web message, they claimed responsibility, citing the attack as a blow against what they deemed “the most corrupt telecommunications company in Egypt.

Vodafone Egypt, however, has attributed the outage to technical issues encountered during upgrades to its 4G service. While primarily affecting the 4G network, some users have managed to regain mobile network access by reverting to 2G or 3G.
