Worley applies genAI to procurement, project knowledge reuse – Hardware – Software

ASX-listed engineering firm Worley is using Dell and Nvidia technology to underpin its development of generative AI applications.

The firm was yesterday revealed as a user of the year-old ‘Dell AI Factory with Nvidia’, which combines Dell hardware and Nvidia GPUs and software, and can be deployed on-premises.

Worley – which works predominantly in the energy, chemicals and resources sectors – has built its first generative AI workload “to assist Worley customer procurement teams in technical evaluations of vendor bid documents, reducing the time spent on data extraction and analysis.”

A second use case aims at reusing “insights from past projects for faster and more productive project delivery.”

Both use cases aim to streamline internal operations or boost productivity.

The firm brought in WWT to assist with the implementation.

Future work may cover “AI-driven design and automation, AI-generated estimates and benchmarks, and AI-enhanced supplier integration and collaboration,” according to a statement by Dell.
