Woods is leaving the university after an almost two-year stint, initially as interim chief digital and student services officer in January 2023 before being named vice president of services in August the same year.
He additionally had a prior stint at the university for four years as its chief information officer.
His departure was announced in an internal email sighted by iTnews. His last day at the university is November 15.
The internal email stated that the timing would allow Woods to travel to Canada for family reasons.
It added that the university is still yet to confirm the interim “arrangements” for the role ahead of recruiting for a successor.
A Monash spokesperson told iTnews that “there will be no interruption to the leadership of Monash’s technology delivery, with the director of technology services, the director digital transformation, the senior manager [of] IT and the group chief information security officer all ensuring full continuity of the university’s systems and security.”
The spokesperson added that Woods returned to Monash “to assist during a significant period of leadership transition”.
