The NSW government is to re-platform its freshly consolidated SAP system onto the vendor’s managed cloud infrastructure in a $52 million deal.
The state’s Department of Customer Service (DCS) will shift its on-premises enterprise resource planning solution onto RISE with SAP as the latest step of a large upgrade program.
According to the department, the five-year contract forms part of a future strategy for its ERP delivery.
“NSW government recognises the benefits of consolidating transactional shared services and SAP systems within its various portfolios to achieve a greater process harmonisation, increased productivity and reduce duplication,” a department spokesperson told iTnews.
Known as MyWorkZone, the ERP covers core finance, HR and payroll functionalities, as well as underpinning the government’s ongoing shared services program for core transactional services.
The system consolidation is being carried out by Accenture under a seven-year contract that has now reached $197.6 million in value.
As of October last year, the consolidation has seen 75 agencies and 60,000 users transition onto the new SAP S/4 HANA platform system.
