Acronis names OpSys as its first MSSP partner in Australia

Acronis has appointed Adelaide-based Operational Systems (OpSys) as its first certified managed security service provider (MSSP) partner in Australia, enabling the company to deliver Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services built on the Acronis platform to MSPs and their customers.

The partnership reflects the growing demand for MDR capabilities among MSPs responding to increasingly complex cyber threats. It also aligns with a broader industry shift toward locally delivered, sovereign-focused security services, with OpSys processing and storing all customer data within Australian borders.

OpSys operates a security operations centre and supports clients across government, public-sector and commercial environments. Acronis cited the firm’s experience and local footprint as key factors in the decision.

The agreement sits within the Acronis MSSP Program, designed to support MSPs and MSSPs looking to expand into MDR and other managed security offerings. The program allows partners to use Acronis’ technology stack while retaining control of their service delivery and pricing models.

Features available to MSSP partners include access to Acronis’ EDR, XDR, backup and disaster recovery tools; multi-tenant management capabilities; training and support; and optional partner visibility within Acronis’ global MSP ecosystem.

Matthew Fabri, Managing Director at OpSys, said the arrangement will help MSPs more easily access locally delivered MDR services. “As threats become more sophisticated, MSPs are looking for faster response capability and more predictable security operations. This partnership allows us to provide around-the-clock monitoring and incident response from within Australia.”

Pasha Ershow, Senior Vice President for APJ & Middle East at Acronis, said the partnership is part of a broader plan to strengthen MDR availability for the company’s regional network of more than 700 partners.

The agreement comes as MDR gains traction among MSPs seeking to improve detection and response maturity without building full in-house security operations centres. Industry analysts expect continued growth in sovereign MDR demand as organisations look for locally delivered services aligned with data residency requirements.
