ACS appoints Interim Chief Executive Officer

The Australian Computer Society (ACS) has appointed Dr Prins Ralston as Interim Chief Executive Officer following the departure of Josh Griggs from the role.

The leadership change was announced by the ACS Management Committee and takes effect from 10 March 2026.

Dr Ralston is a Fellow and former President of ACS and brings extensive executive leadership experience across the public, private and for-purpose sectors. His professional background spans engineering, information technology, communications, accounting and law, supported by a doctorate in juridical science. He has served as chief executive across a range of organisations for more than 18 years.

The ACS Management Committee said Dr Ralston’s deep knowledge of the organisation and leadership experience would help guide the professional association during the transition.

ACS President Beau Tydd said the organisation welcomed Dr Ralston back into a leadership role at a critical time for the technology profession.

“We are very pleased that Dr Ralston has agreed to take on this role,” Tydd said. “He brings considerable depth of experience and a strong track record of leadership. His long association with ACS, combined with his executive expertise, means he is exceptionally well placed to lead the organisation.”

Dr Ralston said the technology sector was entering a transformative period driven by artificial intelligence and rapid digital change.

“It is a genuine honour to return to the ACS in the role of Interim CEO at such a pivotal moment in our profession’s history,” he said.

“As a former President of this organisation, I have deep respect for what the ACS stands for and a clear-eyed appreciation of the challenges and opportunities ahead. Artificial intelligence is reshaping every dimension of how we work, how businesses operate, and how IT professionals create value.”

Dr Ralston said his focus would be on ensuring ACS continues to play a leading role in shaping discussions around the future of technology and the IT profession in Australia.

“My focus will be on ensuring that the ACS is positioned to lead that conversation — for our members, for industry, and for the nation,” he said.
