Applus+ Laboratories to acquire Australia’s Teron Labs, expanding Common Criteria and FIPS 140 services

Applus+ Laboratories has announced it will acquire Australian cybersecurity evaluation firm Teron Labs, in a move it says will expand its capabilities in product security testing and certification under the Common Criteria and FIPS 140 schemes.

The companies provide evaluation services under internationally recognised certification programs used to assess the security of products including cryptographic modules and other components required for government and regulated-market procurement.

Applus+ Laboratories said the acquisition is intended to combine “complementary expertise” across the two organisations and strengthen its global offering in cybersecurity conformity assessment. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the coming months.
