Australian Appointed Vice Chair of ISACA Global Board
ISACA has announced the appointment of Australian cybersecurity expert Jamie Norton (pictured) as Vice Chair of its 2025–2026 Board of Directors.
Norton, currently Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), steps into the Vice Chair role as part of ISACA’s continued focus on strengthening leadership across its global community. He joins returning Chair John De Santis, a US-based technology executive, in leading a distinguished group of 13 directors from across the world.
Reflecting on his appointment, Norton said it’s a privilege to serve as Vice Chair of ISACA’s Board of Directors. “As we face escalating cyber threats and rapid developments in AI and technology, the role of our profession has never been more vital,” added Norton. “I’m committed to helping strengthen the global community of digital trust professionals, while ensuring we continue to build and support a diverse pipeline of future leaders.”
Norton brings more than 25 years of experience in cybersecurity, governance, AI safety, and risk management, with a deep understanding of both the public and private sectors. His leadership roles include former Partner at McGrathNicol, CISO of the Australian Taxation Office and advisory positions with leading organisations such as start-up Crisis Commanded and Avertro.
A long-time ISACA member, Norton is known for his thought leadership in digital trust and his commitment to advancing professional education and certification. He has played an active role in ISACA’s local and international initiatives, including contributions to its globally recognised CISM certification and involvement in Australia’s Cyber Security Strategy and ASD IRAP and Cloud programs.
Also joining the board for the 2025–2026 term is Dr Tim Sattler of Germany, alongside returning directors from the US, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
ISACA CEO Erik Prusch said, “It is a true pleasure to welcome this year’s board directors, who have all contributed so much to both this organisation and the industries we serve. Each member brings valuable insight, experience and passion that strengthens our mission and vision and amplifies our impact for our members.”
The full board was installed at ISACA’s Annual General Meeting held in Chicago and virtually on 30 July. The event also marked the first official ISACA Awareness Day in Illinois, recognising the organisation’s contribution to global cybersecurity, governance, risk and assurance.
