Bastion to broaden its presence in Australia, merges with Seamless Intelligence

New Zealand headquartered Bastion Security Group has signed an agreement to merge with Seamless Intelligence, a specialist cyber security managed services provider headquartered in Perth, Australia. This marks Bastion’s second acquisition in Australia, having recently acquired and integrated Melbourne-based cyber security managed services provider Cythera. The acquisition of Seamless Intelligence is expected to complete in the September 2025 quarter. Importantly, the current shareholders of Seamless will remain invested in the Bastion Group.

A natural partner for Bastion, Seamless provides security information and event management and security operations centre services to blue-chip enterprise and Government clients. Established in 2018 by Christopher Bolan and Tristan Bennett, Seamless has scaled to ~25 cybersecurity professionals with a suite of in-house developed, proprietary tools to support effective service delivery.

This strategic move enhances Bastion Security Group’s Australian presence and reinforces its commitment to delivering market leading cyber security services across Australia and New Zealand. Seamless’ blue-chip customer relationships, exceptional service delivery and differentiated technical capabilities complement Bastion Security Group’s mission to provide best-in-class protection against cyber threats.

Specifically, Seamless’ customers are expected to benefit from enhanced managed services support coverage, with access to both Australian East Coast & New Zealand support staff, access to Bastion’s extended service offering, which spans governance, risk and compliance, penetration testing, cloud and network security, cyber strategy advisory services and threat intelligence, and access to complementary managed services products.

Bastion Security Group’s CEO, Eugene Gibney, said “The acquisition of Seamless Intelligence represents another important step in our strategy to build a trans-Tasman cybersecurity powerhouse. Seamless has earned a strong reputation for technical excellence and client trust, with a clear focus on making advanced cyber protection both accessible and tailored. We’re excited to welcome their talented team to Bastion and look forward to combining our capabilities to deliver an even stronger managed security services offering across Australia and New Zealand.”

Seamless CEO, Christopher Bolan, said “Joining forces with Bastion is a natural evolution for Seamless Intelligence. From the beginning, our mission has been to deliver outstanding cybersecurity outcomes for our clients through transparency, technical rigour, and trust. In Bastion, we’ve found a partner that shares those values and brings the scale, depth, and breadth to take that mission even further.

This partnership enables us to offer our clients broader capabilities, greater coverage, and continuity of the team and service model they’ve come to rely on. We’re excited about the opportunities this unlocks for our customers, our people, and the market.”

The acquisition is good news for all stakeholders, including staff, management and customers. The leadership team at Seamless will remain in place and the Seamless team will integrate over time with Cythera in Australia, leveraging the best of both organisations to strengthen the Group’s managed services capabilities and enhance presence in the Australian market.
