The governing body for Sandringham, Brighton, Hampton and eight other coastal suburbs named infrastructure and support services coordinator Julian Adler as its acting CIO after Tozer’s elevation, while a permanent replacement is sought.
Reporting to Tozer, the successful candidate will lead corporate services’ IT division; responsible for corporate records, IT projects, data and applications, GIS and infrastructure and support.
They will also “lead the organisational uplift of technology, protect and ensure data security and maximise operational effectiveness and efficiency,” according to the job posting [pdf].
Tozer joined Bayside City Council in 2019 as its executive manager of people and strategy. She was promoted to CIO in December 2017.
Adler joined the City of Bayside in 2019 as a senior systems administrator; he was promoted to infrastructure and support services coordinator in 2021.
Before that, he was a senior IT technician for Knox City Council. He has held other IT and security roles at South Australia’s Catholic Education Office and Vectra.
