Burp’s new Ambassadors: learn from the people who use Burp Suite everyday | Blog

Back in April, we launched the Official Burp Ambassador Program: a community initiative designed to work more closely with experienced Burp users, support the work they’re already doing, and strengthen the connection between PortSwigger and the wider AppSec community.

Since then, we’ve been fortunate to see our Burp Ambassadors continue doing what they do best – sharing research, creating educational content, speaking at events, building tools, and helping our global community sharpen their skills.

Today, we’re excited to welcome four new Burp Ambassadors to the program.

Each of them has already made a meaningful impact on the web security community in their own way, and we’re looking forward to seeing what we’ll build together.

Over the coming months, expect our Burp Ambassadors to publish new research and walkthroughs built around Burp Suite usage, hosting online events, and representing the community at events near you.

Meet our newest Burp Ambassadors

Katie Paxton-Fear

Katie is a cybersecurity educator, researcher, and content creator with a passion for making offensive security approachable. Through her talks, videos, livestreams, and educational content, she has inspired thousands of aspiring security professionals to get hands-on with web application security.

Katie’s enthusiasm for teaching and her ability to explain complex concepts clearly make her a fantastic addition to the Burp Ambassador community – expect practical, beginner-friendly walkthroughs that make it easier to get the most out of Burp Suite.

Malek Mohammad

Malek is an Information Security Consultant, Penetration Tester, and security researcher with a background in software development. He specialises in web application security, helping organisations build more secure applications through penetration testing, threat modelling, and secure development practices.

Alongside his hands-on research and bug bounty experience, Malek is passionate about sharing practical knowledge with the community through technical content and educational courses. We’re excited to have him bringing his expertise and real-world Burp workflows to the Burp Ambassador Program.

Yogesh Tantak

Yogesh is a Senior Principal Security Engineer at Roche, where he leads a team of penetration testers focused on web and mobile application security. A long-time Burp Suite user, bug bounty hunter, and security educator, Yogesh is consistently recognised as one of Samsung’s top security researchers and is passionate about sharing practical knowledge through technical content, local security meetups, and hands-on Burp training.

We’re looking forward to collaborating with Yogesh and supporting his continued work, including bringing more Burp training directly to his local meetups.

James Lester

James is a pentester and security researcher with a passion for practical web security testing and community education. Through research, technical content, and active engagement with fellow practitioners, he’s built a reputation for sharing knowledge that helps others become better testers.

We are delighted to welcome James to the Burp Ambassador Program, and seeing how his work can impact the Burp community.

Looking ahead

The Burp Ambassador Program has always been about more than simply recognising talented individuals. It’s about embedding Burp more deeply in the communities that already use it every day, and building relationships with people who are actively shaping the future of web security through research, education, and community involvement.

With Katie, Malek, Yogesh, and James joining the program, we’re growing a global network of practitioners who help make the Burp community stronger, with new technique walkthroughs, real case studies, hands-on training, and real conversations at local meets and conferences.
