CrowdStrike announced its acquisition of Flow Security, the industry’s first cloud-native data runtime security solution.
This move positions CrowdStrike as a leader in modern cloud security by offering comprehensive data protection across various environments.
Enhanced Cloud Security
CrowdStrike’s Falcon® XDR platform gains data security posture management (DSPM) capabilities with Flow Security.
This allows for real-time data protection across endpoints and cloud environments at rest and in motion.
Addressing Evolving Threats
Organizations increasingly rely on cloud services, APIs, and GenAI applications, leading to data distribution across various platforms.
This creates security gaps that adversaries exploit to steal sensitive data.
Unified Approach to Security
By natively protecting data in all states, Flow Security helps stop breaches by closing these security gaps.
“CrowdStrike was born in the cloud and pioneered cloud-native cybersecurity. We have been consistently recognized as the strategic leader in cloud security by delivering the outcomes customers need most from a single, unified platform,” said George Kurtz, co-founder and CEO of CrowdStrike.”
“With the acquisition of Flow Security, we’re expanding our cloud leadership by protecting data in all states as it flows through the cloud, and are redefining the future of data protection by securing data from code, to application, to device and cloud.”
“Since our founding, Flow Security has focused on removing the complexity of securing the massive amounts of critical data businesses manage daily.
We saw that the market lacked a solution that provided comprehensive protection of the flow of data as it traversed SaaS applications, on-prem, cloud infrastructure, third-party APIs, etc., and that this lack of visibility and control presented a critical risk to the enterprise,” said Jonathan Roizin, CEO of Flow Security.
“We look forward to working with the cloud security leader, CrowdStrike, to bring to market the most extensive cloud data protection solution.”
Once the acquisition is finalized, CrowdStrike plans to integrate Flow Security’s Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) capabilities into Falcon Cloud Security as part of the Falcon XDR platform.
This will empower customers to:
- Consolidate existing cloud-based security point solutions.
- Protect their entire cloud environment.
- Gain detailed visibility into critical cloud data flows.
- Understand how data interacts with applications.
- Detects when sensitive data is at risk or leaving the environment unintentionally.
Transaction Highlights:
- The purchase price primarily consists of cash, with a portion provided in equity subject to vesting conditions.
- The acquisition is expected to close during CrowdStrike’s fiscal first quarter, subject to standard closing procedures.
