Last week, Rebecca Taylor, Threat Intelligence Knowledge Manager and Researcher at Sophos, and Amelia Hewitt, Director of Cyber Consulting at Principle Defence and Founder of CybAid, released their second co-authored book Resilient You: An Agony Aunts’ Guide To Keeping It Together. The book is a follow up to their 2025 book Securely Yours. The book is a practical Agony Aunt-style guide for individuals wanting to build resiliency into their careers. The independently published book was released on the 12th May 2026 on Amazon.
Taking inspiration from magazine ‘Agony Aunt’ columns, Resilient You moves away from generic self-help advice and focuses instead on resilience as an ongoing practice. The authors draw on their own journeys through joy, stress, therapy, and setbacks, making the book relatable, honest, and refreshingly human. They combine thoughtful research with real-world insights to explore what resilience truly looks like day to day. At the heart of the book is their self designed ‘Resiliency Quad’, a holistic framework that examines four key areas essential to thriving:
- Physical resilience
- Emotional resilience
- Technological resilience
- Developmental resilience
By nurturing each quadrant, readers are guided toward greater balance and long-term wellbeing.
What sets Resilient You apart is its breadth of voices. The book features insights from a diverse group of experts, from an AI safety specialist to a shaman, offering a rich mix of perspectives and practical tools. This diversity of thought ensures accessibility and relevance for readers across industries, roles, and life stages.
Co-Author Amelia Hewitt said: “Resilience is fundamental to the human experience, but too often we learn about it in silos. This book encourages readers to expand their understanding and integrate resilience as a living framework in their everyday lives.”
Rebecca added: “Resilient You encourages exploration. Readers may connect deeply with some ideas and less with others, and that’s intentional. The goal is to plant seeds of change, spark curiosity, and empower individuals to strengthen the areas that matter most to them.”
This is Taylor and Hewitt’s second book. Alongside their first release ‘Securely Yours’, Taylor and Hewitt have the ‘Cyber Agony Aunts’ podcast. The podcast will continue the conversations started in their new release, and focus on providing additional support for the wider community.
