IDC predicted digital transformation investments will reach $3.9 trillion by 2027, which shows how important it has become for companies globally.

A Forbes article reports that digital transformation is critical for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) looking to thrive in today’s fast-changing business landscape.

With the increasing integration of digital systems within SMEs comes greater vulnerability. Protecting sensitive information from cyberattacks should be at the top of a business’s priority list if it wishes to not only maintain customers’ faith but also prevent costly breaches. Cybercrime Magazine previously reported that 60 percent of small firms close shop six months post-hack.

Pablo Barboglio, founder and CEO of Las Vegas, Nev.-based Remote Team Solutions, providers of nearshore staffing in Mexico, suggests that SMEs should be taking measures such as installing firewalls, implementing encryption protocols and providing cybersecurity training to staff members.
