In 2020, we launched the Hack for Good program to allow ethical hackers to donate their bounties to charitable causes.
With the world’s eyes on the invasion of Ukraine, we are inviting hackers to donate to humanitarian relief efforts.
Hackers can donate all or a portion of their bounties to UNICEF and their efforts to support the people of Ukraine. HackerOne has already donated $25,000 to UNICEF, and on top of that, we’ll match donations dollar for dollar up to $100,000 for the next three months.
How can I donate my bounty?
Through our Hack for Good initiative, you can donate your bounty to UNICEF to support humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine.
Donations are made with the bounty splitting option, allowing you to choose the percentage you would like to donate.
To be eligible for donation the following conditions must be met:
- The bounty has not yet been awarded.
- The program supports collaborators.
- You are not located in Russia, Belarus, occupied Ukraine,or other sanctioned countries. Due to legal sanctions, we are not processing bounties to any hackers in these areas.
Find and select the report in your HackerOne Inbox. Select Add collaborator and enter the username hackforgood. Enter the desired ratio to split your bounty – the Bounty example field will show you the dollar amount. For more on bounty splitting, see our documentation.
All donations made to the official hackforgood account until June 1st, 2022 will go to UNICEF.
Can I choose a different charity?
At this time, Hack for Good is supporting UNICEF. If you have a different preferred charity, we welcome you to claim your bounty and make a personal donation.
I run a HackerOne Bounty program, can I match donations?
Yes. If you would like to match donations made by your program’s hackers contact your Customer Success Manager, or email csm-team@hackerone.com.
