Until just six years ago, Marwan Ouarab was scamming people, according to a CNN story. He would sell them fake concert tickets by printing barcodes on blank tickets. The scam worked for a while, but eventually he was caught by the police. At the age of 25, he was convicted of fraud, given a 10-month suspended sentence, and ordered to pay 11 euros in compensation to his victims.
Ouarab decided to turn his life around, and in 2023, he officially founded Paris, France-based FindMyScammer.com, which he claims is the first company dedicated to tracking down internet scammers.
Scott Schober, a well known cybersecurity expert and author, and Cybercrime Magazine Podcast host, recently spoke to Ouarab about his past hacking indiscretions and what inspired him to create FindMyScammer.com, and how he is helping victims today.
