Young left a nearly six-year stint at Catholic Church Insurance back in March and has consulted since; before that, she was the executive general manager of technology infrastructure at IAG.

At GMHBA, she will “drive innovation and enhance member experience”, overseeing works associated with “the single largest technology investment” the organisation has made “in its 90-year history”, GMHBA said.

“This program of work will implement market leading technologies and processes, creating new ways to enhance customer value through greater collaboration, efficiency and functionality across the business.”

“Kathryn will oversee the strategic transformation of our technology platforms, ensuring our staff are equipped with leading edge tools and resources to deliver seamless, high-quality service to our members and patients,” GMHBA CEO David Greig added.

Technology responsibilities previously fell to chief technology and data officer Cameron McLean, who iTnews understands intends to step into semi-retirement.

Meanwhile, the data team that had reported into McLean will now shift its reporting line to the finance and corporate services team lead Maz Hachem, effective December 1.
