NSW Health has a new chief information officer in the form of Richard Taggart following a six-month search.
Richard Taggart, NSW Health and eHealth NSW
Taggart takes over the dual positions of NSW Health CIO and eHealth NSW CEO from Dr Zoran Bolevich, who departed in June.
The state’s digital health centre announced Taggart’s appointment on LinkedIn.
“Richard is excited to bring his extensive experience to eHealth NSW and lead us through its next chapter,” the health service wrote.
“eHealth NSW has an incredible track record of innovation and service delivery and I have no doubt this legacy will continue.”
In a separate LinkedIn announcement, eHealth NSW called Taggart a “transformative digital health leader with over 20 years of ICT experience, combining a clinical background in pharmacy with a proven track record across both public and private healthcare organisations.”
Taggart joins the organisations from Calvary Health Care, where he was the national director of digital health until December 2024.
In the announcement, Taggart said: “eHealth NSW has an incredible track record of innovation and service delivery and I have no doubt this legacy will continue.”
“Over the next few months, my focus will be on meeting the incredible people at eHealth NSW and across the system and getting to know the business in more detail to be better able to set its future direction.”
Meanwhile, Dr Bolevich, who was with NSW Health and eHealth NSW for nine years, has now joined the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) as chief executive officer.
