The Operational Technology Information Sharing and Analysis Center (OT-ISAC) and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work together on cybersecurity research, threat intelligence and cyber exercises. The aim is to make critical infrastructure in Singapore and the wider Asia-Pacific more resilient to cyber attacks.
SUTD’s iTrust Centre for Research in Cyber Security brings research and hands-on testing. OT-ISAC adds industry experience and a trusted network for sharing information. Together, they will help organisations better prepare for, respond to and recover from evolving cyber threats affecting critical infrastructure.
Under the MOU, the two organisations will work together on OT cyber threat intelligence sharing, cyber exercises and professional training across the region. iTrust will contribute its research, testbed and training expertise, including lessons from its annual OT cyber exercise. OT-ISAC will provide the operational perspective and work with iTrust on knowledge-sharing activities, including workshops, briefings and community sessions.
“Our mission is to advance secure critical infrastructure through world-class cybersecurity research, training, analysis, and cyber defence. Our partnership with OT-ISAC will help iTrust develop practical technologies to strengthen OT cyber resilience,” said SUTD iTrust Centre Director Prof Jianying Zhou.
“We are excited to partner with SUTD,” said AJ Eserjose, OT-ISAC director. “Between the research capabilities of SUTD and OT-ISAC’s threat information sharing mechanisms, we can better defend infrastructure in Singapore from increasingly sophisticated, adaptable and unique cyber attacks.”
SUTD pivoted to AI, becoming the world’s first Design AI university. With Design AI, AI is treated as a collaborative partner rather than just a tool, enabling humans and AI to brainstorm, test and prototype together. This human–AI teaming approach is rooted in SUTD’s distinctive cohort‑based interdisciplinary pedagogy, in place since the University’s founding in 2009.
As a trailblazer in the field of design and technology, education and research, SUTD has been pioneering innovative programmes and initiatives since its inception. In January 2026, SUTD broadened the scope of its Design and AI programme by integrating social sciences into a technology degree, recognising the growing need for solutions to be more human‑centred. SUTD also revamped its Freshmore curriculum by embedding Design AI across all first‑year courses, reinforcing its commitment to reimagining higher education while nurturing the next generation of human‑centric design‑tech innovators and leaders.
Hosted in SUTD, iTrust aims to advance secure critical infrastructure through world-class cyber security research, training, analysis, and cyber defence, and is positioned as a leading global centre for critical infrastructure protection and innovation.
iTrust’s controlled OT testbed environments enable researchers to emulate realistic cyber-attack scenarios and study how they unfold, how they affect systems and how they can be defended against, without putting live critical infrastructure at risk.
OT-ISAC brings the operator’s side: a community of practitioners and anonymised threat insights on OT and industrial control systems (ICS) from the field. This keeps the research and exercises tied to challenges operators actually face.
