Peak Human Readership | Daniel Miessler

Struck by kind of a weird feeling.

I feel like people who write or create art or basically produce content for humans to read might be very sad soon.

I think there’s a good chance that we’ve already hit peak human readership for kind of anything that requires deep focus for humans.

It’s not just that the short video swiping removed our ability to focus for long periods, but it’s also that there’s just too much content. Everyone’s AI is going to be consuming most of the content and giving them summaries instead of them having to do it themselves.

I still think there will be people like myself who are searching for and consuming the best stuff, but it really feels like it’s gonna be a tiny number of people creating things and a tiny number of people actually reading them.
