Tell us what you think: The Daily Swig reader survey 2023

Have your say to be in with the chance to win Burp Suite swag…

UPDATED The Daily Swig, the brainchild of PortSwigger, the makers of Burp Suite, was launched in 2017.

Since then, we’ve gone through a number of changes, had a website redesign, and refined our content direction, but our mission has stayed the same – to help the world secure the web.

How? By providing the infosec community with the news and knowledge they need to stay up to date on the latest threats and vulnerabilities.

But to stay on track, we need your help.

Tell us what you think

So far, we’ve had an amazing response to our reader survey. Some initial insights we can share are that readers told us they want:

  • More advanced content, including more difficult hacking techniques to emulate
  • On the flip side, less advanced content for security beginners
  • Deep dives into topics such as the OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities and how to protect against them
  • More real-world examples of security breaches, as well as post-mortem analysis

We also received a barrage of compliments from readers including that they find, for example, our content to be ‘usually better than CISA for understanding what’s actually happening’ and that our content is ‘rich and very good’ and ‘the best source for security news’.

If you haven’t yet had your say on helping to shape and grow the site, you can still take part by filling in our survey.

As a thank you, and if you give us permission to capture your email address, you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win Burp Suite swag.

Submissions will be open until January 31 – after that point, we’ll stop accepting entries and draw our lucky winner.

Thanks,

The Daily Swig team
