ThinkLabs AI names Dragos’ Robert Lee to board to accelerate AI-driven grid planning, modernization

ThinkLabs AI, an AI-powered grid intelligence company that empowers critical infrastructure with trustworthy, physics-informed AI, announced on Tuesday that Robert M. Lee, co-founder, chairman and CEO of critical infrastructure leader Dragos, has been named a Member of the Board.

Lee joins at a pivotal moment as ThinkLabs rapidly expands to help utilities increase speed-to-power for large load projects like AI data centers and improve energy reliability and affordability for all customers. He brings experience scaling a category-defining company and a career spent working alongside utilities such as American Electric Power, Inc. and will help accelerate the company’s mission to become the industry-leading AI operating system for the grid.

“Rob is one of the most respected leaders in critical infrastructure today, and is the perfect partner to help ThinkLabs meet the grid’s trillion-dollar modernization challenge,” said Josh Wong, founder and CEO of ThinkLabs. “He built Dragos into a category leader and has spent his career alongside the operators who keep critical systems running. His guidance will be invaluable as we rapidly scale to help utilities meet AI’s power demands and connect large load and generation customers while supporting local communities.”

Lee has spent his career scaling the systems that protect critical infrastructure. Before co-founding and scaling Dragos into a global leader in operational technology (OT) cybersecurity, he began his career as a U.S. Air Force Cyber Warfare Operations Officer tasked to the National Security Agency, where he helped lead the investigation into the 2015 cyberattack on Ukraine’s power grid — the first time a cyberattack took down an electric system.

He has served as Vice Chair of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Grid Resilience for National Security Subcommittee and sits on World Economic Forum subcommittees on cyber resilience for the electricity and oil and gas sectors. Under Lee’s leadership, Dragos recently secured a majority investment from Accenture at a $3.2 billion valuation to build the industry’s most complete OT security platform.

“Utilities are facing unprecedented electricity demand growth driven by electrification, data centers and the need for infrastructure modernization,” said Lee. “ThinkLabs is fundamentally improving how grid operators understand, plan and manage their systems, delivering AI models that save as much as nine months of planning time, built on physics-backed data utilities can trust. I’m looking forward to helping the company build on its strong progress with Southern California Edison and other major utilities to become a standard system for every utility.”
