Windows 11 23H2 now available for all eligible devices

Microsoft says the Windows 11 2023 Update has entered the broad deployment phase and is now available to all seekers on eligible systems.

Also known as Windows 11 23H2, this latest release will now be offered to all Windows devices not configured to defer feature updates and unaffected by compatibility holds.

“Windows 11, version 23H2, also known as the Windows 11 2023 Update, is now broadly available to all users with eligible devices who Check for updates,” Microsoft said in an update to the Windows release health dashboard.

“In addition to annual updates, devices running version 23H2 receive new features and enhancements more frequently using servicing technology.”

Windows 11 23H2 started rolling out in September for enterprise testing to Release Preview Insiders and was released as an enablement package for other customers one month later.

The list of new features shipping with the Windows 11 2023 Update includes Microsoft’s new AI-powered digital assistant and the Windows Copilot AI-powered digital assistant.

It also comes with a revamped File Explorer, Dynamic Lighting support, an improved volume mixer, a revamped Windows Spotlight experience, a new in-depth energy report, and many other features and improvements.

If you want to install this Windows 11 feature update manually, go to the Windows Update Settings dialog and click “Check for Updates.” If your device is ready and not affected by safeguard holds, you should see an option to “Download and install.”.

Microsoft also started force-installing Windows 11 23H2 in February on eligible systems that were close to or had already reached their end-of-service date.

The forced rollout phase came after systems running multiple Windows 11 21H2 editions were automatically updated to Windows 11 22H2 before their end of support in October.

You can find out if your computer is eligible for the Windows 11 2023 Update using the PC Health Check app or by checking the Windows 11 specifications, features, and system requirements.

Redmond also provides a support document and a guided walk-through to help customers resolve any issues experienced during the upgrade.
