Bridewell FIRST CNI cyber security

Bridewell has been accepted as a full member of the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), marking a significant milestone in the company’s incident response maturity and global collaboration capabilities.

The UK-based cyber security services provider, which specialises in supporting critical national infrastructure (CNI) organisations, secured membership following a rigorous, peer-led vetting process and approval by the FIRST CSIRT Board of Directors. The achievement reflects Bridewell’s ability to meet the high operational and trust standards required to join the global incident response community.

FIRST is an international organisation comprising more than 800 teams across over 100 countries, including government bodies, national CERTs, academic institutions, and private sector organisations. Membership is reserved for teams that can demonstrate credible, active incident response capabilities, making it a recognised benchmark within the cyber security industry.

As part of the application process, Bridewell was required to evidence robust incident handling procedures, experienced response personnel, secure information management practices, and a commitment to contributing to the wider incident response ecosystem. Applicants must also be sponsored by existing members and demonstrate readiness to collaborate within a trusted global network.

With full membership, Bridewell gains access to confidential threat intelligence-sharing channels, enhanced collaboration opportunities with global peers, and early visibility into emerging and fast-moving cyber threats. This is expected to strengthen the company’s ability to deliver faster, more coordinated support to clients during critical incidents.

James John, Incident Response Manager at Bridewell, commented: “Incident response doesn’t stop at borders, and neither should the networks we operate in. FIRST membership means Bridewell is part of a community of vetted, trusted teams across government and industry, and that directly benefits every client we support.”

The move further positions Bridewell within an elite group of incident response providers, reinforcing its role as a trusted cyber security partner to organisations operating in highly regulated and high-risk environments.
